Goal 3. Restoration of Coastal Ecosystems for Carbon Sequestration
Problem
Degradation of coastal ecosystems (salt marshes, wetlands, and steppes) reduces their carbon storage capacity.
Relevant SDGs:
SDG 13: Climate Action.
KPIs:
Restore X hectares of salt marshes, wetlands, and steppes by 2030.
Increase carbon storage capacity of regional ecosystems by X tons of CO₂ annually.
Establish X protected areas along the eastern coast.
Project:
Develop a program to restore salt marshes as natural carbon sinks with community involvement.
Develop a programme to establishing a Caspian Seal protected area in Qazaq bay
